Sonic Adventure 2 (DC)

If there's one game that symbolizes SEGA, then without doubt it's Sonic. It is to SEGA what Mario is to Nintendo. Sadly, SEGA's time as hardware makers has come to an end, but they have given Sonic a great SEGA console farewell with a superb game.

Sonic Adventure 2 lets you do what no Sonic game has let you do before - be Eggman and friends and try to stop Sonic! This time, the old doctor has two new allies - Rouge the Bat and Shadow the Hedgehog. Each character has a type of stage - be it running, shooting or hunting.

Sonic and Shadow's stages are old-fashioned, run-through-a-level-as-fast-as-you-can affair. They're also the best stages in the game. They are much more action-packed than their counterparts, and as a result are much more fun.

Tails and Eggman's stages are no disgrace either. They involve your character, in a mech robot (think Armoured Core or Virtual On) blasting through stages. Points are awarded for destroying as many robots as you can in a row - you do this by locking-on to them all, then letting loose!
